Jessica J. Juarez, LPC
I am honored to meet you and to support you in your journey, whether it be the beginning of your healing process or another step in your path toward transformation. Taking action to reach out for mental health support can be intimidating, feel foreign, and at times be filled with stigma. I honor the courage it takes to embark on a journey of expansion, evolution, and healing.
I am an empathic listener; I actively participate in sessions and show up as my authentic self. During a session, you can not only anticipate me listening to your experiences- but also asking questions to understand further. Often, I ask how you want to proceed in sessions. You may want to hear my observations or want me to hold sacred space. You may want me to provide insight and feedback or directives. The intention is for us to co-create goals and tailor a plan; that fits your specific needs.
I utilize an eclectic therapy approach often using holistic and creative techniques and tools. I draw from Adlerian psychology, Jungian psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Liberation Psychology, Gestalt, Relational, Attachment Psychology, and the Arts. I have a background in restorative practices, visual arts, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence to promote wellness and provide coping strategies that facilitate growth and empowerment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Chicago. My educational background includes a bachelor's in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a Master's in Educational Psychology-Youth development from UIC, and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University.
Spanish is my first language, and I am very comfortable with Spanglish.
I have experience working in schools and communities across multiple direct service roles since 2001. I have experience with youth (ages 12-21), young adults, adults, and older adults.
